What you can do to help yourself
There are no sure fire ways to prevent breast cancer. There is no vaccine or medicine that you can take that will guarantee that you will not get breast cancer. However, there are some things that you can do to reduce your risk.

LIMIT YOUR ALCOHOL INTAKE. There is a link between alcohol consumption and breast cancer. Experts aren't sure how strong the link is, and it doesn't seem to matter if you're drinking beer, wine or hard liquor.  It is recommended that alcohol consumption should be limited to less than one drink per day.

MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT.  There is a link between obesity and breast cancer. This is especially true after menopause. Experts think that estrogen production in fatty tissues are the link.

KEEP PHYSICALLY FIT.  Regular exercise can help you to maintain a healthy weight.

LIMIT THE FAT IN YOUR DIET.  Results from the most recent study on dietary fat and breast cancer suggest that limiting your fat intake can slightly reduce your risk of invasive breast cancer. In addition, it is easier to maintain a healthy weight if you eat a low-fat diet.
